Today, COLTON Constructors is a full service general contractor utilizing state-of-the-art technology to construct sophisticated buildings of all materials that are functional, attractive, and cost effective. Successful construction projects are the result of excellent Owner/Contractor relationships before, during and after construction. The COLTON management team has partnered with clients to “provide distinctive and personalized service from conception through completion.”

Today, a large part of our business is built from repeat clients. History

John G. Colton, founder of Colton Building Systems in 1970, started with the concept of providing Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings as a Design/Build service to Owners, Architects, and General Contractors. A native Oregonian, John moved to Phoenix in 1967 to start a partnership with a Metal Building Contractor. In only three years, they constructed several hundred buildings throughout the state. By 1982, Colton had built an additional 3 million square feet of buildings under his own name.

In 1979, Bob Colton joined the firm after graduating from Arizona State University's Engineering Department and expanded its operation by offering Full Service General Contracting which included Commercial, Industrial, Design/Build, and specialized tenant improvement services.

The emergence of COLTON Constructors in 1992 reflects our most marketable feature, “The ability to combine steel components with General Construction.” This is exemplified in our success on projects ranging from using tilt-up concrete and metal roof, to multi-level steel framed deck with poured-in-place concrete, finished with offices over production areas.

Colton has successfully completed projects in surrounding states including California, Colorado, Oklahoma, Texas, and South Carolina.

During the past three decades, the COLTON name is synonymous with quality throughout Arizona and now the Southwest.
